Mr & Mrs Dictator Kagame: A Burden and Embarrassment

The Kagames just concluded their New York City visit where they were honeymooning in over$20,000.00 a night hotel suite. With an entourage of over 10 people, and a week stay in the big apple, the Kagame hotel bills will not be less that $500,000.00.

The Kagames of course flew to USA in one of Bombardier Global Express jets which, based in Turkey. The pilots, attendants, jet fuel, flights to visit children in different American cities, would have added another $500,000.00.

This is unreal. No president or prime minister in the developed or developing world would get away with this level of moral decay. Absolutely not. The national media and public outcry would drive such a morally bankrupt “leader” out of office in a matter of weeks.
But Rwanda has no media or a public with a voice. The entire nation is imprisoned by the power-mad Kagames. The official media meanwhile sing daily about how Rwanda has achieved just about anything that can possibly be achieved. Reading New Times, one gets the impression that Rwanda has already achieved Vision 2020, ten years ahead of its projected time-frame.
This of course is pure fantasy. And the truth comes everyday.
Look at these images from igihe.com showing how the sick get transported to ramshackle medical facilities. This is the infamous national health care that, according to Kagame, is the best system in Africa.

The Kagames, their domestic and foreign backers, are totally out of touch with Rwandan realities. They live in a make-believe fantasy. Kagames are in fact now a heavy burden and embarrassment to Rwandans. The Kagames’ world recalls an English phrase popularised by Mark Twain “lies, damn lies, and statistics. Butcher Kagame is a living a lie.
Some bloggers on AD say we are wasting time by waging a war against a ruthless and bloody dictator who, in his own words, we “are mere frogs whose noise will not prevent the elephant, himself, from drinking water.”
Nothing could be further from truth. Fighting and defeating dictators takes many forms, and it takes time. We must use all means within our disposal including our pens. There can be no doubt that our frog noises are essential in exposing the creature – he no longer controls the entire internet with his cheap propaganda.
Far from slowing down our effort, we must quadruple the pen fight! Up with your pen bloggers!
