The announcement was made yesterday by the party leader, Christine Mukabunani, at their new office in Kimironko.
“Following a party congress that took place in March and decided to oust Ntaganda, we have since requested him several times to hand over party equipment, including the flag and the stamp, but he has stubbornly refused,” said Mukabunani.
She added that the party had written three official letters to Ntaganda but he has not responded.
“We recently wrote a fourth letter and copied it to all relevant security organs requesting them to intervene, but they have not responded. Our next step is going to court and file a suit against Ntaganda,” said Mukabunani.
Mukabunani who had called the press conference to brief journalists about the recent twist of events, condemned the recent statement released by a fictional and nonexistent grouping calling itself the Permanent Consultative Council of Opposition Parties in Rwanda.
The group recently released a statement branding Presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Dr Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo, as a ‘stooge’.
The group claimed to be made up of the Green Party of Rwanda, FDU-Inkingi (both unregistered) and PS-Imberakuri.
“PS Imberakuri is not part of that grouping and considers the statement irrelevant and not credible. We head the legally accepted PS Imberakuri and anything that is not endorsed by us should be considered null and void.” Mukabunani said
Mukabunani also revealed that she is receiving messages threatening that there is a wide network of former members of PS Imberakuri determined to harm her and her family.
