France/Rwanda: The attack against Christophe Hakizabera sparks international outrage
The Rwandan community of Rouan and Havre, France is so shocked to have witnessed an assassination attempt against one of their fellow citizen, Hakizabera Christophe, 61 years old.
Intellectual with conciliatory character, Christophe Hakizabera is a practicing Roman Catholic believer, viewed as a wise man and deeply respected and loved by most Rwandans in that region.
On Wednesday, October 22, 2009, Mr. Christophe Hakizabera was in his flat room where he is hosted by the association France Terre d’Asile, when he got severely aggressed by a violent Kazak man by the name of Tamaz.
The problem here is not why the aggressor wanted to kill his peaceful neighbor. The real issue is how orders could be given from Rwanda simply because the victim knows too much about RPF crimes.
French authorities must find and bring to justice those responsible for this murder attempt against Christophe Hakizabera, a renowned Rwandan opponent and refugee who has asylum in France. This murder attempt must not become another unresolved RPF attack against Rwandan opponents. One should indeed keep in mind, the assassiantions of Seth Sendashonga, Lizinde Theoneste, Asiel Kabera, the empoisonment of RPF opponents, most of which are Hutus in general.
The French authorities are responsible for protecting the lives of civilians and immigrants that are on the French soil. Without that, the fuse which has been lit in the region will ignite and bring even more violence, abuses and griefs.
In the past two years, since the murder of Juvenal Uwilingiyimana, a Rwandan refugee who got assassinated in Brussels, Belgium, Rwandan opponents, mostly Hutus intellectuals have continued to be targeted by the RPF killing machine.
These attacks are having a chilling effect on democracy, freedom and human rights respect in France and in Europe in general. Rwandan refugees in exile who are on the European soil cannot expect to freely exercise their civic duties unless they believe the host country is willing to stand up for their rights and protect them.
In response to his activities during this period, Christophe Hakizabera has been threatened and intimidated for having left the RPF, the Rwandan criminal organization, that belongs to the current Rwandan president General Paul Kagame. There were several kidnapping attempts made against him in these past 10 years, including many others well planned assassination attempts ordered by the RPF criminal organization inside and outside Rwanda.
