Mrs. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, candidate for the next presidential elections in Rwanda in 2010, said that she received her Rwandan passport a month ago. Out of ten passports requested by UDF-Inkingi, her political party, only two have been granted by the Rwandan government. The other beneficiary of the Rwandan passport is Jean de Dieu Tulikumana. Mrs. Ingabire said that she will not go back to Rwanda to launch her presidential campaign without all of her lieutenants in particular her Executive Vice-President Eugene Ndahayo. The latter, a former Chief of Staff within the Ministry of Information of the transitional government that was headed by Faustin Twagiramungu, is the most politically experienced within Mrs. Ingabire’s team. Refugee in France for several years, Eugene Ndahayo, the former executive secretary of MDR party, fled Rwanda after signing a memorandum denouncing the massacres perpetrated by the RPF. His friends advised him against returning to Rwanda albeit in group.
