Ingabire, you became our Heroine
We may not contemplate as if we were cheerleading a football game
Truly teach them genuine Democracy!
Then let’s go to free and fair elections
So that Rwanda may belong to Rwandans
Goodbye he who used to depend on someone else’s means.

Ngaho babwire utubwire
Maze u Rwanda rubone ubugira amahoro:

Go ahead, tell tell them, tell us
So that Rwanda may have peace:

(Igice cya mbere cy'ijambo rya Mme Ingabire mu ijwi rye bwite:)

"Mbwire abanyarwanda ko icyo twifuza, ari uko dufatanya, gukorera hamwe, tugakora k’uburyo amahano nk’aya y’amaraso atazongera kuba,
ni impamvu imwe yo kwifuza ko amahano nk’ayo atozongera kuba mu gihugu.
Ni imwe no mu mpamvu FDU-INKINGI zafashe icyemezo cyo kugaruka mu gihugu mu mahoro, tutagombye gukoresha intwaro,
nk’uko benshi batekereza ko umuti w’ibibazo ari ugufata intwaro; kuko ntago twemera ko kumena amaraso ari ko kurangiza ibibazo.
Iyo umuntu amennye amaraso aranamuhama, aranamuhama, aranamuhama.."

(Part I of Ms. Ingabire’s speech)

„Let me tell all Rwandans that what we wish for is that all of us should work together, to make sure that such a tragedy will never take place again. That is one of the reasons why the political party FDU-INKINGI made a decision to return to the country peacefully, without resorting to violence as many people think that the solution to Rwanda’s problems is to resort to armed struggle. We do not believe that shedding blood should resolve problems. When one sheds blood, the blood comes back to haunt him/her...“

(Igitero [2x]:)
Victoire Ingabire
Victoire Intwari

(Refrain [2x])
Victoire Ingabire
Victoire the Brave Woman
Ndabona imigambi yawe ari nk’iya Nelson Mandela

cyangwa se iya Che Guevara

I can see that your mission is similar to Nelson Mandela’s
or to Lumumba’s
or to Che Guevara’s

(Igice cya kabili cy'ijambo rya Mme Ingabire mu ijwi rye bwite:)

"Kugira ngo lero tuzagere ku nzira y’ubwiyunge, ni ngombwa ko akababaro ka buri wese tukumva.
Ni ngombwa ko abatutsi biciwe, abahutu babishe babyumva kandi bemera ko bagomba kubihanirwa.
Ni ngombwa ko abantu baba barishe abahutu nabo, bumva ko nabo bagomba kubihanirwa.
Kandi ni ngombwa ko abanyarwanda mu moko yose tuvamo anyuranye,
twumva ko tugomba gufatanyiriza hamwe, mu bumwe, mu bwubuhane, tukubaka igihugu cyacu mu mahoro."

(Part II of Ms. Ingabire speech:)

„For all of us to reach reconciliation, we need to empathize with everyone’s sadness. It is necessary that for the Tutsis who were killed, those Hutus who killed them understand that they need to be punished for it.
It is also necessary that for the Hutus who were killed, those people who killed them understand that they need to be punished for it too. Furthermore, it is important that all of us, Rwandans from our different ethnic groups, understand that we need to unite, respect each other and build our country in peace.“

Twazize amateka yatubyariye ibirumbo,
itsembatsembabwoko ryo ryatewe n’ibyo biburagasani byadutandukanyije,
ariko ubwitange bwawe buzaduhuza nta shiti.
We suffered from our failed history
The Genocide was caused by such evil doings that divided us
But your sacrifices will surely unite us

(Igitero [2x]:)

 (Refrain [2x])
Victoire Ingabire
Victoire the Brave Woman

Abatwa, Batutsi, Bahutu, biyunge,

(Igitero [2x]:)

Once reconcilded each other,
Let’s not forget to also get reconciled with all of our neighbors.

Ooh, yoooh, Ahaaaa (2x)
