We all have concerns about the situation on the ground:
The president's unfair characterization of opponents or anybody he want to discard will no longer work to keep him on power, turning the presidency into an office for personal agenda and enrichment.
The dictator president who took more power away from the parliament & judiciary system is indefensible in the 21st century politics.
The maliciously handpicked institutions including the Parliament and the Supreme Court have been lacking a real political culture or purpose. The fact that those who are in leadership position are just the president's puppets powerless or incompetent for the policymaking arena makes things getting worse.
The whole administration of the country lacks a coherent governing framework to only focus on what the president dictates.
The failed banana republic policies created the disastrous current social situation in governance, courts, agriculture, employment, schools and university that are alarming.
The wave for democracy and good governing by the people and for the people is no longer stoppable;
The underground military fall apart is troubling and can only lead to violence;
The movement of politicians, generals fleeing the country is bad for the country;
Rwanda is now like a very dirty cooking pot: Clean it or break it!
Those who anticipated that Kagame who took power by force and blood could lead Rwanda to prosperity got it all wrong, and can help to redirect the focus on real issues and solutions.
To restore unity and good governance for a sustainable country, this scenario is necessary and helpful:
People suffered long and are sick of corruption, poverty, and keeping the Kagame circle's greed for power can desperately turn violent.
The United Nations and the international community quickly have to turn their attention to Rwanda and the region, and begin dealing with a change for a sustainable country. This has to be in the making quickly and timely. So, these steps can be necessary and quite fast to put in place:
1.To request the Kigali regime to freeze the ongoing election process that is full of fallacies.
2.To create an independent commission composed by a team from the United Nations and selected nations on basis of integrity. The current president and government then can only run the daily urgencies without interfering with the elections.
3.The commission mandate would be: to restructure the current election process in allowing the existing opposition political parties and all who aspire to run for the high office to register and run their campaign without preconditions. That way, the commission can to give a chance to all aspirant politicians to organize parliamentary and presidential elections in enjoying a full independence from the current regime.
4.To free all political prisoners and invite the exiled politicians to come and freely participate in the elections.
5.To involve all Rwandans inside Rwanda and abroad to vote through a fair and transparent process and not through the tricky Kigali machine. After the election, the new governing body should make sure that the next government will embrace democracy alt all levels, and revising laws to make the rules of law irreversible.
This can ensure the country future leaders to strictly follow the principles of open, democratic and accountable governance. Without that, any alternative for a short time fix would be an illusion of stability generating again and again to loss of lives and resources.
This can be a long lasting solution to all nepotism, killing, imprisonment and exiling trend of the country's workforce for political reasons. Seriously, those senseless past experiences must for ever cease. Politicians can work their terms and retire as decided by the people instead of going in jail or being killed; business men can run their businesses through any administration; people can hope to no longer be subjected to shorten their lives by regime change!
This process would be cheaper than dealing with a possible revolution that can bring unpredictable results or produce unintended consequences. Instead, it can implement for good in Rwandan politics fundamental democratic for a more stable and prosperous country by means of a peaceful resolution.
We can be all winners with the country salvation and faking things up can only lead us to be all losers!
