UK-Rwanda: Habyarimana’s assassination was a coup, said UK Defense Ministry

A classified document we managed to get hands on confirm that the assassination of president Habyarimana was a coup organized by gen. Kagame (the current head of state) for them to acquire power and control over the region.
Under the section Establishment of an alternative society, the manual aimed to train UK special forces, the document says:The acquisition of power and control within a region has historically
been a motive for removing the existing state or regional authorities. Usually
based on tribal groupings, an authority is toppled in order for that group to
obtain power and then operate the levels of government to its own advantage.
Saddam Hussein in Iraq is a modern example of this form of motive as are the
current leaders in what remains of Rwanda.
