From concordant and reliable sources, the Foundation-Ibukabose-Memory for All has learned that a diabolical conspiracy is underway in Kigali to arrest Mrs. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza and put her on trial before a special military tribunal with fabricated evidences on charges of conspiracy, terrorism and material support to terrorism. The Chair of United Democratic Forces, UDF-Inkingi, and candidate to the forthcoming presidential elections in August 2010, is also accused of having created a virtual armed group called the Democratic Forces Coalition (CDF), which only exists in the imagination of the Rwandan regime.

The goal is to establish that Mrs. Ingabire is a dangerous terrorist who returned to Rwanda in order to overthrow by force the legal institutions of Rwanda. To give some credibility to these trumped-up and political thought-crimes, the military intelligence of President Paul Kagame reportedly hired six former members of the FDLR (Democratic Liberation Forces for Rwanda) recently repatriated from the DRC to testify against the president of UDF-Inkingi. These former “repented genocidaires” have been commissioned to testify that Mrs. Ingabire might have repeatedly traveled to the DRC, where she established a military command for her armed group and met with these six “false witnesses” who were part of the so-called the Democratic Forces Coalition (CDF). The former commander of the FDLR rebel group, a Hutu General Paul Rwarakabije, who also is considered as a “repented genocidaire”, has been appointed by President Paul Kagame to train these “false witnesses” and coordinate the whole travesty.

-The Foundation-Ibukabose-Memory for All denounces and condemns all such practices and criminal mafias worthy of the Stalinist era aimed at terrorizing political opponents and curtailing freedom of expression and opinion in Rwanda.

-The Foundation-Ibukabose-Memory for All strongly condemns moral and physical harassment of which Mrs. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza and all opponents against the regime of Paul Kagame are always victims, especially since the return of UDF-Inkingi’s Chair to Rwanda in January to participate in the peaceful reconstruction of the country.

- The Foundation-Ibukabose-Memory for All draws the attention of the international community about the dangers of physical elimination that Mrs. Ingabire may be subject to if the current legal machinations against her are not thwarted on time.

- The Foundation-Ibukabose-Memory for All calls upon all democratic governments, especially the powers members of the UN-Security Council to exert political and diplomatic pressure on the regime of President Paul Kagame to put an end to current judicial harassment, intimidation and physical violence inflicted on the democratic opposition leaders to prevent them from participating freely in the presidential elections scheduled for August 2010.
