According to FDU-UDF-Inkingi's website, Mrs. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza today met with the Political Attache at the British Embassy in Rwanda.
The police also returned to her all her IDs that had been stolen on February 3, 2010. These IDs had been stolen when she and her assistant were assaulted by "unknown" assailants as they were entering a government office where they had been called for an appointment to collect additional administrative papers.
It is quite interesting that somehow the police "recovered" the IDs and yet no one has been charged for the assault that took place against Mrs. Ingabire and her assistant. Except of course for the assistant himself who is still in jail on a Gacaca conviction for a crime he apparently committed when he was not physically present at the scene of the crime. He was not even in Rwanda at the time the alleged crime was committed.
Now that the IDs are back, the process of registering Mrs. Igabire's party in Rwanda can proceed. And in the meantime my prayers continue for the assistant, Mr. Joseph Ntawangundi whose only apparent crime was to join Mrs. Ingabire in her struggle for true democracy and human rights in Rwanda.
