The Pentagon's military expenses were around US$623 billion in the year 2008. However, now that the United States is bankrupt soon the dollar will no longer be a global reserve currency. The countries that used to finance the U.S. budget deficits on a dizzying level such as China and other Asian countries have decided to not buy U.S. Treasury bonds anymore. This may be the end of the US dollar and the American financial and military hegemony.

In such a situation, the United States can no longer afford to continue to finance their military imperialism in Africa and elsewhere. They will soon be forced to close their military bases located throughout the world and to drastically reduce military spending.

We are on the verge of a worldwide tipping of the geopolitical structure much greater than the tipping that followed the fall of the Berlin Wall and the USSR. All those military regimes (Rwanda, Uganda, etc.) that have enjoyed U.S. financial and military assistance in order to destabilize their neighbors will soon fall and disappear as this has happened to many dictatorships after the fall of the USSR.

Here is an interesting article to read:
The American Empire Is Bankrupt.
